Test

My mobile blogging app hasn't been working - hence the lack of posts for over a month. I am sending out this test post and if it doesn't work, I will buy a new app. Here is a picture of Caleb eating Thai food:

And here is a video of Caleb wearing dreidel antennae (if you are getting this as email the video will probably just look like a photo):

Chappy Chanukkah!

Caleb had a wonderful first Chanukkah!
Mommy bought his "My 1st Chanukkah" onsie in a size 9-12 months, so it was a little too big... but Caleb didn't seem to mind.

We weren't sure if Caleb would stay awake long enough to light candles, but he made it!  Here is a video of us lighting candles:

Then it was time for presents.  Caleb had quite a few presents to open on his first night since he opened his present from Mommy and Daddy and also his present from Nana and Gramps.  He liked the toys, but I think he was more excited about climbing on the boxes and tearing the paper!

Presents to climb on!

Ooh!  What's this one?

Simi's staked her claim on the paper
Mommy and Daddy got Caleb a cool car toy that makes lots of fun sounds.  He should enjoy it for a long time.  Maybe we're even setting the stage for him to be a safe driver!  (Do you get an insurance discount for driving since you were 10 months old?).  Nana and Gramps gave him a very cool sports center where he can play basketball, baseball, and spin a football.

beep beep!

So much fun!

Look!  I can dunk!
In addition to the fun present-opening we captured on camera, Caleb's Chanukkah included lots of fun, friends and food!  One night we went to Miss Leanne's house, where Caleb played with Ella and Dana and Simba the Cat.  On the Monday night of Chanukkah Caleb had all of his friends over to celebrate!  We ate latkes and jelly donuts, lit candles and listened to Chanukkah songs.  Even Caleb's newest friend, Teddy Seltzer, came to visit!  Mommy somehow forgot to take any pictures - so thank you Miss Rivae for the photos you posted on Facebook!

Latke (or something... it's hard to tell)!

First Thanksgiving Video

All the photos are in a different post, but here is a video of Caleb eating his first Thanksgiving Dinner:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Caleb's First Thanksgiving

For Caleb's first Thanksgiving, we headed down to Houston to be with Daddy's family.  Caleb had a great time playing with Nana and Gramps and Great Grandpa Lou, and Uncles David and Nathan, but probably the most exciting part of Nana and Gramps' house was Shauna the cat with her very fluffy tail (sorry no pictures of that).
With Uncle David
On Thanksgiving Day we headed over to Elter Bubbe's for a morning visit.  Caleb enjoyed sitting with her and eating all of her food (of course). Grammy came over to play too!

Then we headed back to Nana and Gramps' house for a short nap.  After that, it was Turkey Time!  All of Nana's family came over, and for many of the cousins, this was their first time meeting Caleb.

This was as close as Mommy could get to a posed photo

With Cousin Natalie
Caleb loved Gramps' turkey and all of Nana's yummy dishes.  After we finished our first dinner, it was time to head back over to Elter Bubbe's for our second dinner of the evening!  Of course, this required a second "First Thanksgiving" outfit too (I already gave you a sneak peak because some of the above photos were taken just before we left Nana & Gramps')!

Happy Turkey Day!

Wrestling with Elter Bubbe

Elter Bubbe was very brave!  She let Caleb play with her toys!
On Friday we went out to a park near Nana and Gramps' house and Caleb played with Ms. Sarah's dog!

On Saturday we met up with Cousins Cary and Kim since we weren't able to see them on Thanksgiving.  Caleb enjoyed a variety of foods - this was a gluttonous weekend for him!

Almost too short for the table

Hooray for Cousins!

On Sunday after saying goodbye to Nana and Gramps, we met for lunch with Grammy, Grandpa Kim, and Elter Bubbe before hitting the road back to Dallas.

Hi Nana!

This is one stuffed baby!
So after a long weekend filled with almost excessive amounts of food (if such a thing is possible for Caleb), we left Houston behind.  Caleb slept pretty well on the drive home.  He was probably digesting his own body weight in turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and so many other yummy things.  I think that is how much he ate over the weekend.  Armed with challah and bagels, we made our way home.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Truck Time

November 14th was Congregation Shearith Israel's Truck Time, and Mommy brought the Red Cross Hummer out for everyone to see.  Caleb came by late in the event and checked out a few of the trucks.  He wasn't all that excited about the horns that kept honking, but he had fun sitting in the back of the Hummer!

Hopefully this is the only way Caleb will see the inside of a Police Car!
(Unless he becomes a police officer, of course)

We can't wait for next year!  By then, I'm sure Caleb will be the one honking the horns!

A Visit with GiGi and Papou

GiGi and Papou came for a visit over Veteran's Day.  Papou is retired now, so they had plenty of time to visit!  Caleb loved all the toys they brought, and he had a great time playing with them.  Here are a few special pictures from their visit:

Hooray for baby monitors!

I love GiGi!  (And her Pancakes...)

Yummy!  Pancakes!

The trip also included Shearith's Truck Time, but I will have a separate post for that.  We were sad to see GiGi and Papou go, but we can't wait to see them in February for Caleb's Birthday!!!!

-Posted late, but with love!
