Pumpkin Patch Fun

Caleb had so much fun playing in the pumpkin patch at the Dallas Arboretum while school was out for the Jewish Holidays. He got to climb on the giant "punkins" and play with his friends Alexa, Ella, Noam, and MJ.

The boot didn't slow him down at all!

Here are some pictures:

Halloween 2011

Caleb had a fantastic time this Halloween. It was a weekend filled with parties, friends, and most of all monkeys.

Caleb loved all the funny lights and crazy decorations. He didn't seem scared of anything. He especially loved the "punkins" and seeing all the spiders (lights, animatronic, inflatable, etc.) - now mommy is just hoping he doesn't think he can pet and play with ANY spider!

Mommy had a Banana costume to go with Caleb's monkey. Caleb thought this was hilarious and called it a "manana" since it was mommy. Interestingly, though, he had no qualms cannibalistically eating bananas while mommy dressed as one, and in fact, he asked for one whenever she had on the costume.

Caleb visited about a dozen houses for trick-or-treating, and that was plenty. He like pressing the (doorbell) buttons and picking out a candy to put in his bucket. When we got home he got to sample two candies from his bucket. He picked two tootsie roll pops, and probably took 5 licks of each one, but he happily carried them around and talked about them for half an hour!

Here are a few pictures:

Texas State Fair 2011

Going to the fair every year is one of Mommy's favorite things about living in Texas. This was Caleb's second year at the fair and he got to go twice! He had so much fun at the puppet show and petting zoo and seeing the horses and chickens, and cows - he even got a kiss from Elsie! He danced to celtic music, and he ate yummy fair foods like french fries and giant pickles, and of course ice cream. He loved playing with his friend Layla on the farm too!

This year Caleb got to visit his special Fair Park brick that Mr. Brad got him when he was born. It says "Howdy Caleb from Big Tex". We look forward to watching Caleb grow over the years as he visits his brick each time we go to the fair!

Here are some pictures!

Okay, already! Let's do this!

Passover at Bubbe's House

This year we went to Pennsylvania to spend Passover with Caleb's Bubbe.  Beside learning how to dance, and climbing up and down... and up and down Bubbe's stairs, Caleb enjoyed singing (endlessly) about "Lotsa, Lotsa Matzah" and eating quite a lot of matzah too! In addition to the fun-filled Seders, we visited Gettysburg, spent Shabbat at Bubbe's shul, and played at the Pennsylvania State Museum children's area.  Caleb also watched his first play!  He sat and paid excited attention to the entire 30 minute performance of "The Aristocats" at the Harrisburg JCC.  Here are some great photos and a video from out trip:
